An accomplished pianist and a seasoned music educator, Ms. Brenda Chan has over 20 years of experience on piano teaching both in Canada and Hong Kong. 
 
Brenda started learning piano with her mother and later with Shiu Yuen Shun, who was a renowned piano teacher in Hong Kong. She won the prestigious Tom Lee Scholarship in Hong Kong School's Music Festival, also a Scholarship bestowed by Baptist University(HK) which enabled her to participate in music recitals at Mantua, Italy.
 
She furthered her music education in Toronto and obtained her Bachelor degree in Piano Performance at University of Toronto and Master degree in Piano Performance at University of Western Ontario. After studied briefly with Anton Kubelik and Marietta Orlov, Boris Lysenko became her chief mentor during the years at U of T. , followed by Ronald Turini at UWO. Brenda's public performances include solo appearance  with Scarborough Symphony Orchestra, showcasing Kabalevsky's "Youth Concerto" with conductor Clifford Pool, as well as  solo recitals at Walter Hall and Hart House in U of T.
 
After returning to Hong Kong, Brenda set up her own music studio for private teaching and took psychology courses at City University of HK where she graduated with a master degree of Social Science in Psychology in 2011. It enriched her perspective on piano teaching, adaptations of psychological concept such as motivation and learning becomes an integral part of the"PianoGym" program.
